Hi friends!! It's so so nice to see some old names here.
Oh boy. A lot has happened in my life the more recent years. I'm a junior in college at UMass Amherst where I'm majoring in Psychology and double minoring in education and sociology. I would love to do some sort of social justice/diversity teaching but as of right now my plan is to go to graduate school in psych. I am living in my own place now too up in MA with two wonderful roommates as of June. Feels good man. I've told this to people on the old forum but I'm also a bus driver. I needed a job and my campus hires and trains students to get their CDLs. Two years later, I dispatch, train new drivers (anyone want a class b license..?), drive field trips, and workman unhealthy amount of hours for a student. It takes up the bulk of my life. I'm working there full time this summer and sometimes playing around in a lab. As of the fall I'm going to be also training to be a rape crisis counselor so I'll be doing first response care for victims and answering the hotlines.
I took a pretty grand “leave” from the internet my senior year of high school for my own mental healths sake and my life got infinitely better the second I stopped spending 12 hours a day in front of a computer. I still lurk on various social media and try my best to keep in contact with others but get ridiculously busy. I love Ww and I'm willing to help out here if people exist. Life hasn't been all rainbows amd butterflies this past year, my mental health hasn't been very good and i realize academia isn't as for me as I thought. I've grown up a lot, I would like to think. I like being an adult though, believe or not. This site truly shaped my upbringing though.
It funny, you grow up and realize how much of a kid you were. I've changed a lot in the recent years but some things surprisingly stay the same.
