well, the more I think about it the more I feel like the lack of interest so far means we should simplify it down instead of starting it back up… I mean it's possible not a lot of people have seen or felt like commenting but it's also possible the complex structure puts people off?
there has been interest in the types of contests posted in the challenges board, though, so if we could make it something like that…? say, a subboard/association that pretty much follows the guidelines we were talking about before, where anyone is free to post or compete in any kind of challenge that involves creating something warriors-related, and winners and participants get Challenge Points or something they can keep track of. (either on a thread, or in their profiles, if that's not too many profile numbers.) then there could also be PP prizes, and other awards for reaching a certain number of CP. I think that could practically run itself; all we'd need is maybe a mod or two to bestow the points or keep track of them (to prevent cheating), and lock/archive finished contests. (though I think members can lock their own threads now?)
basically I guess what I'm suggesting is just a way of doing the types of challenges we already have, but make these ones member-run instead of staff-run? if that sounds amenable I'd be glad to work with whoever else is interested to write up an info post/set of rules/whatever we need to get started, if someone wants me/us to. I'm just worried that if we go the whole nine yards with the old gba/wba they'll just die again.
