WishianI love photography. A lot. And I thought maybe some of you might too?
If you do, feel free to post some of your photos here! We can praise them (or give constructive criticism if you'd like), talk about our favorite subjects, share tips, and so on. Don't feel like you have to have a professional camera to post here, either; if you've got a wicked awesome iPhone pic, go ahead and post it!
If you like photography but don't necessarily like taking pictures yourself, you can comment on others' photos, or post some of your favorite photographer's photos. But PLEASE remember to give credit to that artist if you do!
Rules:
– Follow all the forum rules.
– No nude photographs please, no matter how tasteful they may be!
– Give each artist credit for his/her work.
– Constructive criticism only, no being rude or putting down someone else's hard work.
– Have fun!Flickr:

Ooh, nice! I haven't gotten a chance to go to a zoo yet, but I love taking pictures of animals. I tend to take more pictures of them and plants/landscapes than anything else…

Wow your pictures are wicked awesome! I hope you don't mind that I followed you?
My instagram doesn't have too much photography on it at the moment, but I just got back from a trip where I took a bunch of pictures, so I've been slowly adding some in.
My flickr has some more, though. I think I may start a list on the first post linking to members' photo websites (deviantart, flickr, etc.) so that we can all follow each other… -

WishianI really do like photography and often take photos of the sunrises over here if i'm lucky enough to stay up that long. For example, i have this and this on my instagram.
Awesome! I can never get up early enough for a sunrise, but every once in a while I get a sunset pic. I hope it's okay that I followed you too?

These are amazing! When it comes to people I'm usually only good at shooting candids; when it comes to being artsy with it I draw blanks.
also acting is another favorite of mine.I ended up being really lucky; my campus this year is in the middle of a wildlife preserve with a bunch of trails, so I should be able to get a lot of shots there while I'm waiting for classes.

I was the same way, so I looked on the iBooks store for free books about photography, and that really helped! There's also websites with articles that are helpful whether you're a professional, a beginner, or just interested in making normal pictures look better.
And now that I'm back on my computer and not a phone, I can post some of my stuff! I have too many pictures to put on at once so I'll just post some every once in a while.

WishianI love photography, but I still have a lot to learn.
This is my flickr with my better photos.I seem to have a problem getting the perfect focus. A lot of the time I seem to be just a bit off of what I'm actually trying to focus on. I also have issues with getting the lighting just right. I know I just need to practice though, but any tips would be appreciated.
I like doing landscape and animal/wildlife photography. I'm using a Canon EOS Rebel T3.
Wow, after going through everyone's photos I realize I have a LOT to learn. My pictures are crap compared to y'all's. I mean, wow-za!

Your pictures are amazing, [member=46]Ariel[/member]! I followed you~
I use a Canon EOS 70D (which I spent a long time saving up for), and it helps with lighting a LOT. But before I got that, I would edit my photos to get the lighting that I wanted. I just use Picasa because it's cheap and simple, but any editing software would do the trick. And as for the focusing, that pretty much just takes practice. Although their may be some settings in your camera that allow you to focus on more/less with each shot…

WishianWhen I'm at home I use a Nikon D700, but the only reason why I use such a high end is bc it was my dads lol
When I'm at school, I use a Nikon D70, which isn't as good… It's getting pretty old tbh. I also have some trouble with focusing the camera, and I find that auto focus does help quite a bit, unless the lens ur using doesn't support it. (I know my 50mm lens doesn't work with AF) -

Wishianeveryone's pictures are so good oh my gosh!!! I use my iphone 4 and a Nikon D3200. I also have a Fuji (not sure what model) that I don't use as much since I got my Nikon. I absolutely love taking pictures of flowers, they're probably my favorite. I also do a lot of motor racing photos, which is a big rush when you manage to catch a car mid-wreck while it's flipping upside down. Photographing people isn't really my thing, although I've done some of that for family members. I've really learned a lot this past year, but most of my current stuff is on my computer at work, which I can't get to until monday. I found a few really old photosets on tumblr though. (I think most of these I took with my old Fuji)

WishianI let this thread die I'm so sorry 3 But related to photography: over the summer my dad's friend let us stay in his GORGEOUS cabin right on the ocean in Maine absolutely free of charge (which is a huge deal because normally to rent it for a week it's about $3,000). Not only that, but he came up to visit us and took us out on his boat (also for free) and we all had a picnic on a deserted island and he took me specifically to a place with a ton of seals because I've always wanted to photograph wild animals in their natural habitat, and he saw me taking pictures and he told me to send them to him when I could get them developed because he wanted a few copies because he liked my pictures so much.
So I got an idea to make a professional hardcover book of some of my personal favorite shots that I took while up there, that way he can put it in the cabin for other renters to see, or just keep it with him to remind him of home (he's a pilot so he doesn't get to stay in an actual house a lot). I was really proud of the pictures I put in it and I'm so glad that I get to give something to him in return for all the amazing things he did for my family, so I wanted to post the pictures here so you guys could take a look and tell me what you think! There are literally a few hundred others from that vacation alone, but these are the ones that I took while at the cabin and decided to add into the book
Tell me what you think, and please be brutal! -

WishianAhhh thank you both so much
It was the single best place I've ever been tbh… It was gorgeously furnished, it wasn't in the middle of no where with no electricity or anything. It had a huge flat-screen tv, a huge kitchen, three bathrooms, four bedrooms, three stories including the basement, a GINORMOUS porch that overlooked a bay… It was so incredibly amazing I don't even know how else to describe it.
Plus it was only an hour away from Acadia National Park, so I got to go hiking and cliff climbing and AH best vacation ever, and it was all thanks to my dad's friend (who actually we hadn't even met before, it was the guy's brother who my dad knew. I was shocked that someone could be that kind to a virtual stranger).
I figured giving the guy a nice book of pictures was the very least I could do -

WishianWell I mean considering he gave us over $4,000 worth of free stuff/activities, I figured it was the very least I could do! It was actually the first of my pictures that I've had professionally printed out, so I was really excited. I may end up making more books for other categories eventually; my family has said they wanted some, and I have a really great idea of one for my grandparents for Christmas
And yeah it was amazing, the best vacation I've ever taken

Wishianhhhhhh a thread about one of my favorite hobbies / something I want to minor in. I took a photography class waaaaaaay back in high school, and I took some pictures with a film camera, and I need to get them rescanned because I actually like how they came out. I have a weird thing about taking pictures of landscapes, wildlife, and plant-life — specifically flowers. Idk how or why, I just have this thing about flowers, I love taking pictures of them. I also had taken a lot of pictures of my cat Max before he passed, because he was extremely pretty. So animals is on that list too. I just like taking pictures in general, tbh.
These were the first flower pictures I'd taken with a digital camera
When I visited Washington D.C., I held up the class a lot taking pictures of the cherry blossoms…
These photos were taken during my Photo I class
And when I visited Los Angeles for my senior year orchestra trip, we went to the Getty museum, and I took a lot of pictures of the garden. These are my favorites, though.
This last one is my favorite, to this day. Also, as a little bonus, when my family went to the mountains this year, I caught a picture of my parents that I'm gonna print out on photo paper for them for their anniversary.Personally, I'm wanting a digital film camera, because I absolutely love them for some reason?? I also need to buy a digital camera with a manually adjustable lens. I'd share all my vacation photos from the mountains but… that's a lot of pictures. x~x I do have an Instagram, though I rarely upload good photography like that because my phone camera sucks. I'll probably try to upload some pictures to deviantART at some point soon, so… yeah.
EDIT// I found the 5 x 7 prints that I scanned!!

(/)//u//() I think it's the detail that catches me — flowers always seem to simple at first, but when you get closer, you see all these small little details, like the tiny veins and flecks of pollen and the minuscule hairs on the stamen… to capture those in a photo is just, ahh omg I love it
Mallards are fairly common around here, but sometimes Wood Ducks come around too; since I rarely see them, I tried to get a bunch of pictures of the couple.
At some point, a Mallard couple joined alongside the Wood Duck couple… usually they fight, from what I've seen, but I guess it was a nice enough day for them all.[member=75]Slanderman (Scary)[/member] Since these aren't of the famed albino mallard I told you about, I'm not gonna submit them to your competition, but I know you like ducks, so c': (You can click on the pictures and make them bigger to see the ducks better!!)
