Warriors Wish v5 Mafia #5 – The Muffin MafiaWelcome to Warriors Wish's very first muffin game. In a nutshell, this is a game in which you have the opportunity to

which could result in the absolute domination of muffinkind. But whatever, don't let that spoil the fun.This will be a Role Madness game, with some 'fruit' aspects. I've stolen rules from moss', Heat's, Splashy's and Adam's
games and then tweaked them a bit.How to Play
In the simplest game of mafia, there are just two factions, the mafia and the town. The goal of the mafia is to overtake the town (mafia wins when there are equal or lesser town alive than mafia) and the goal of the town is to eliminate the mafia (town wins when all mafia members are dead). There may be other factions with different goals. There are two phases in the game, night and day. During night phase players with roles that allot them powers will make decisions on who to target with their abilities. The mafia is allowed to communicate with each other secretly during this time. Players PM the narrator of the game with their targets and at the end of the night phase all actions are resolved by the narrator and the results are revealed at the beginning of the day phase. During the day phase all players post in the thread and discuss and place votes. At the end of the day phase the player with a majority vote will be lynched and their alignment will be revealed.

- For votes to count during the day phase, please use the following syntax: Vote: [player name].
- If a majority vote is achieved against a single player during a day phase, they will be lynched and have their role revealed to the town. If the day phase ends without a majority vote, the player with the most votes will be lynched instead.
- Night phases will last for 3 days, or end sooner if all actions are submitted. If you have a night action and do not want to use it, please tell me.
- Day phases will not have limits; however, limits may be imposed and there may be penalties for inactivity.
- Remember, this is all just a game!

Light!You find yourself in a small, homely oven. Through the door you can make out a kitchen; but it is dimly lit, with no discernable features.
As warmth fills your batter-ey soul, you glance around at your muffin comrades. They all seem so familiar, and yet so strange. You're certain you've never met some of these shady characters before…
THUD
BANG! BANG!As quickly as it came, the silence is broken. A dark form looms in front of the oven, sending you quaking in your pan.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The figure is banging frantically on the oven door. You swear can hear baby muffins crying and kitten muffins mewling, but maybe that's because your brain is literally made of flour.
BANG! BANG!
The figure stops, obviously having applied its full force to the door and failed. The silence reigns again, and you breathe a sigh of relief.
Momentarily, a face appears behind the glass. Not the face of a horrid beast, but a kind face. The Muffin Man, the one who created you all.
“My muffins,” he says, speaking quickly. There is a note of fear in his voice, something you are not accustomed to. “Something has gone horribly wrong. When I was preparing your batch for the oven, I accidentally poured some bad batter into the pans. An awful, ancient batter which I swore would never see the light of day again.
“That's right. The Muffia are free, and they are in the oven.”
“Nooooo,” the weak-willed Marbled Muffin screams, hurling itself into the firey depths of the oven. The great flames of the oven flare for a moment, casting a menacing red glow to the Muffin Man's face.
“The oven has activated its emergency protocol.” The Muffin Man explains. “no muffins can get in and no muffins can get out until the Muffia has been eliminated. I'll try to find some way to get you all out, but in the meantime I need you all to do me a favour.
“Between all of you, try to work out which of you have been contaminated by the Muffia batter. Once you're sure, as a group I want you to cast them into the depths of the oven to be incinerated.
“Good luck, Muffins. You'll need it.”

A previous game used mechanics where numbers included in the vote counts would change based on votes. I'm guessing people are assuming this game has something similar and are trying to figure out how it works.
Additionally, random voting Day 1 is a tactic some people use to try and provoke reactions and generate discussions.

Well, so far all the voting that's been going on so far hasn't changed the oven status or the RDI%, so I'm tempted to say we're barking up the wrong tree.

So having two votes does nothing, and voting for a certain person (as what I did) doesn't seem to affect the Oven all too well. I'm not sure about voting for yourself, though, and I don't want to test that theory…. the RDI hasn't changed, either. Is that going to change depending on votes, or after someone's been lynched?
(five hours sleep in two days does not do a body good and I've had a lot going on and this is seriously my first game, so am I posting too much??? not enough??? I just don't know.)

I think its a bit early to say that we understand the significance of the oven. It would be too simple and easy if it was just a matter of vote for the right person and it gets excited.
What I think is more noteworthy is that when it got excited, it also said “He will be here soon”. There was also the deadline for when “something pretty bad could happen”, but then it passed without any fanfare. Whatever is going on, I think it's a bit more complicated than just voting.

I voted the oven despite what you said Addeh because I was legitimately curious if anything would happen, people have already been experimenting to see if anything would change. I think it would be an interesting aspect of the game, that the narrator and oven can be voted against. Honestly, I voted DFW because it did seem pretty reasonable. The vote seemed pretty nonsensical to me because I DID notice that the day cycle turned over and… I guess I kind of assumed everyone else did, too (there was some discussion earlier that led me to believe this was just not a big deal because it was exactly the kind of thing Tom would do. In retrospect, that was a stupid assumption.). I wasn't really sure why, so I was waiting for others to comment so I didn't just jump in with an 'uhh what just happened' kind of message, and then Lavender brought up the oven vote which did seem very unfounded at the time. I didn't wait for DFW to respond because the deadline had already passed, technically, which made me nervous that we were on a very tight schedule. I also totally forgot about the 'not expecting this so early' comment, which, more than anything, makes me really glad we didn't get enough to lynch : P That basically convinces me that DFW is innocent, or at least not suspicious now
Thus, I think it's only appropriate that I rescind my misplaced suspicions and unvote: DFW. Sorry for my hastiness.

Well, I don't know about “Lighting”, but Lightning was only jumping the bandwagon since it seemed like the appropriate thing to do. I was actually under the impression that the deadline was supposed to be Sunday, so I'm not sure what's even going on. I'm not good at playing, and this is my first game. When I voted for DFW, I didn't think it would spark a large bandwagon. I'm not going to retract my vote, however, because I think the reason is fine, especially for a D1 with nothing to go on. The only other person that had voted for the oven, I believe, was amber. and since DFW already had a vote (i think), I went with them.
If we lynch DFW and they turn out to be town, then we can look at the people that were quick to join the bandwagon next day phase.

To clarify, the reason i voted for the oven is that I didn't see much of anything happening, most conversation was around the oven's actions, so out of curiosity I voted for it, to see what reaction that would make. Tom saying that he didn't expect that so soon was really interesting, I think. It implies that he expected it to happen eventually, which makes me wonder why.
I framed it jokingly by making the quip about Addeh because I didn't think it really would do much of anything, and the tone of the game seemed light so far, it didn't occur to me that joking around would be suspect. And hey, it actually got things to happen, so I don't think it was a bad move overall.

first i am changing my vote from the oven so unvote: oven, vote: Graystripe who was one of my suspects for jumping the bandwagon after seeing other people do it. Though I could be convinced to vote several of the people who voted for mw, I find Addeh seems genuine about it as does maybe Lavender and Meg but all this is of course just feelings
I also have a role that shouldnt hurt to much to claim as so I will go ahead and say I am an english muffin. At night I get to have a nice tea with someone and try to be their friend. My goal is to find the scone and if I do they become a townie. I don't think its an inspecton role as i doubt i learn the actual role name but prbably just if they are the scone or not. Muffia may have an equivalent role but thats just speculation. Anyways if i die at least yall won't have to wonder what power i had. I teally would rather not die though.

I sort of skimmed this post and stopped at your vote for me and reasons for doing so, because I was short on time and had class soon. But I just took another look at it and saw your role claim. The Scone's name was purple in my PM, so I am assuming the Scone is a third party. (Hopefully this doesn't count as giving too much PM info, I don't think it is though??) If I die today the Scone is probably useless to the town or possibly even dangerous if the muffia can convert them too.
I would actually highly understand if I get lynched today tbh, as my role has the chance of giving us one more townie, it sure isn't guaranteed or anything. I would actually highly understand if I get lynched today tbh, as my role has the chance of giving us one more townie, it sure isn't guaranteed or anything. Though killing me loses a townie and a potential townie, idk, I know who I am and that's why I'm in favor of going after someone who tried to lynch me. But I'm not going to resent anyone for not trusting me or wanting the confirmation of the info I've given.
If it's third party it could simply be a special name and not have anything whatsoever, or it could have a detonator/bomb kind of role and you 'diffuse it.' It sounds more like the siblings/lovers type of role though, and once you're together nothing.. happens. Like that is just your goal in the game.

My one fear is that if we don't lynch someone before the day ends, the oven will randomly kill. CHances are good that the random kill will be town at least the first time.
Also, iirc, heat first voted for DFW, but heat isn't actually playing. That's what threw me off when I voted for tom (that heat's “vote” was listed, even if it had a 0), and it might have thrown off whoever voted for DFW first.

I was really worried that something was coming up after the deadline passed. I voted hastily mostly to avoid this perceived threat, wondering if the lack of action meant something worse was going to happen quickly, and at the time the shaky reasoning presented seemed reasonable enough justification (especially considering it's D1 and there's not much evidence for anything).

I'd guess an ability like this is most likely Mafia, and were I part of the Mafia I would have known that DFW would be lynched with my vote. Even if this is the result of a mafia ability, that doesn't guarantee your innocence, since unless the mafia are allowed to communicate during the day (which in my experience doesn't really happen) they shouldn't know each other's abilities at this point.

I'm trying to think of how to word this (so excuse any awkward wording), but… theoretically speaking, It sounds like there's more than one Muffia (since you said they have a seperate chat). if that's the case, why use one of their abilities (saying that the vote thing is a Muffia ability) to lower the vote limit for DFW? since she was close to being lynched, wouldn't it make sense for the muffia to try and convince others to vote DFW, rather then using their ability? It feels like it might be a one-time thing. also, I feel like the Muffia might have more active abilities, and this one felt rather passive to me.

I never said it didn't, sorry for not saying that. It is a bit shifty, but handling retaliation for voicing an opinion has never been a strong point of mine. Given that the first thing Vegas did was post a gif and @ the people who suspected her, it is kinda odd that she'd just pass blame off instead of trying to justify/explain herself (as others, including myself, have done)….

imo there's a difference between voting just to vote, but also being willing to listen to what someone has to say. It happens all the time, just because someone is willing to listen, may or may not change the outcome. I think it's worth noting that, you also said basically the same thing, so it doesn't make sense to call us on it when you also said you'd be more understanding.

That stood out to me too, and I have a few ideas. A “destructive” brownie could have be a one-shot vigilante, in which case either they killed Addeh and then got killed by the mafia, or we also have a serial killer on the loose and they went down without getting to use their ability. Another possibility is that they were a “bomb” type role that just didn't end up triggering.
Off the top of my head, those are the only townie roles I can think of that are “destructive”.

Mine is pure inexperience, I can promise you that. Tom can testify that this is my first mafia game, and it's not used as a deflecting tactic; I've never played otherwise, either on v4, here, ToS, or anywhere else. I've never even played wolfgame. I can see why you'd think that, but in this case, it truly is me not understanding certain things about playstyles, the game in general, ect.
I'm extremely concerned that two more townies are dead… it's possible that someone could have been scared, but I'm not sure off the top of my head as to what Addeh said that could have been worth killing him.. same with Leafpool; she's been far more quiet than a lot of the others.
Also yeah Muffin Satan is kinda scary and there are so many jokes that could be made with this.

tbh, I'm treating this game like ToS; a lot of the stuff feels the same to me. that being said, if something in this game works differently than ToS, feel free to point it out to me.

On general principle the game does function like ToS, yeah. Just you get more time to make or break your case during the day vote and some roles are seen more in one version than the other.
If I were to wager I'd assume the double-death was due to a Serial Killer. I get the confusion there, but Just judging by the flavor text I doubt Muffin Satan's arrival would be heralded by the death of a regular muffin (or brownie). A one-shot killing role is possible, but I don't know if it's likely– this is only Day 2 and I don't think anyone had convictions about someone strongly enough that they'd use such a power so early in the game.
For what it's worth, looking back Addeh appeared to be most suspicious of Gray and last I saw Leafpool didn't seem to have many strong suspicions

I know I'm biased and rather unreliable considering this is me I'm talking about and it's Mafia, but if anyone is suspecting me on the grounds that Addeh was suspecting me and then he died, that is not how I play Mafia. If someone suspects me, and I were mafia, having them killed that night would be the last thing I'd do. Why? Because it's too obvious. Everyone (if they're observant!) would just think, “Oh, he's dead, and he was suspicious of Gray. Therefore, there's the possibility that Gray killed him to silence him.” Why would I make myself look even more suspicious?

Def thinking there's a possibility of a serial killer (or a vigilante?), though with the title “destructive brownie” it's maybe possible Meg's role has something to do with there being two deaths? speculation…Greystripes right that if he was Maf, killing Addeh would make him look hella sus, since he was really the only player Addeh was pushing suspicion of. That said, since it's pretty obviously a bad move, there's always the possibility of doing because no one would suspect the maf to be that stupid lol.
Though there's always the possibility that the mafia targeted Meg instead, and Addeh was some other casualty.

But you're voting for random things, which is all fine and dandy on day one, but now we're on day two, and so far three of the town members are gone… so it's not exactly going good for us. Also RE: Addeh being suspicious of Graystripe: I agree that it would be far too obvious to kill someone who was mildly suspicious of you, and also pointless because those suspicions had mostly blown over. One possibility is that the killer was deliberately trying to frame Graystripe. However, some kind of double-bluff isn't entirely out of the question either. It's hard to tell at this point.
I do feel there must be some significance to the choice of kills, though. They were both “safe” kills, but not the “safest” kills. If the mafia wanted to go after people that didn't point to anyone, thus depriving us of clues and things to talk about, it probably would have been better to go for one of the more inactive players.

Not everyone was bent out of shape… I've really only seen myself, Lav, and Jingle comment on it. I'm not sure how that constitutes to everyone, but to each their own, I suppose. As for ME and my quietness, I work full time and do school full time, which I'm actually finishing up school this week, so as you can imagine, my days are extremely busy at the moment. Anyway, Frosty's sounding a lot like I did the last time I played. I was the mafia, and I made a mistake and everyone was suspicious of me, so I had an increasingly elaborate claim that sort of subtly (and not-so-subtly) changed to fit what people's suspicions were based on. Every time somebody's accused Frosty of something, they've more or less repeated the same thing but added subtle things to strengthen their claim.

Not necessarily. The inactive players tend to attract suspicion simply by nature of being inactive and not helping. Killing them off would also make it so that the mafia has one less diversion to throw at us.

I get that, and perhaps I am over-defending, but the last time the town jumped on a random vote like this, it nearly got DFW lynched. I'm actually afraid of under-defending, in case I end up like Vegas. I admit, I did overreact but I felt like Lav was coming on really strongly for a random vote. i do agree with hyperadam about the choice of kills; i was honestly expecting to be dead in the morning because i'd been absent for the whole game. addeh's death in particular strikes me as odd because wasn't there some suspicion on him? which isn't usually what the maf go for though the maf in his game could just be inexperienced

I'm a little sus of Lav because she was also responsible for the initial vote against DFW. I feel like she's playing pretty aggressively, moreso than in previous games as I remember. Both votes were made for basically the same reason (a vote against what amounts to an NPC, out of what at least to me seemed like reasonable curiosity) with not a whole lot of other evidence until the person in question began their defense (at which point DFW seemed much more innocent but Frosty more guilty by at least a small margin).
That being said, while I'm keeping an eye on her, I don't think the evidence against her is horribly concerning yet. : P

As I've previously stated I believe votes against entities that are not players to be anti-town until some kind of narrator text strongly indicates otherwise. It's not even just this phase, you had a very strong penchant last phase for targeting people with votes “just to see if the oven gets excited” which seems like a more lame reason than scumreading people who seem to speak as though they're hiding something >:000! (although factoring in that you have been playing as though you're in town of salem rather than having the sense of a forum format I've graciously decided to unvote you until I can analyze further gameplay)
Furthermore, it's hardly my fault if these other players seem to agree with me because I don't choose for them… I find it more strange that people are trying to follow me, honestly don't you guys have something to pitch in of your own at all? I can be swayed from following intuition but at the moment it's pretty much all I have besides what's already been saidI mean I saw suspicions against Graystripe but I kinda don't get a scummy feel from them

I'm kind of confused about what happened at the end of the last day. Frosty's death looks like the result of us reaching the time limit without a majority, but I'm not sure about Tiny. Is this just something that is going to happen at the end of every day due to the presence of Muffin Satan?
But yeah, good job us for getting one of the mafia. And it looks like we lucked out, because whatever is causing the second night kill seems to have hit another one. Beyond celebrating that, I'm not sure what else to say. Lav's death doesn't really tell us much, since her involvement in lynching Frosty makes her seem like an obvious choice.

I'm really sorry for not being as active and posting; I'm the only overnight cashier at work, so I get to work the vast majority of nights. My schedule is done in such a way where I'm on for five nights, if not more (if they need people lmao) but they're cutting hours by making me take hour lunches or clocking out early and tbh it's just chaos. When we started this game, it wasn't the case, but work's just really been beating the crap out of me and leaving me so exhausted to the point all I do is toss and turn when I sleep.
That being said, I'll post my opinions on everything later…after I've gotten something to eat and maybe napped a little more.

In response to getting bit, the way it was described reminded me of getting bit by….a vampire…? They sucked up some of my muffinyness and I felt tired afterwards. I didn't change roles which one might assume if it was an actual vampire but it's still weird.

I have to agree with Jingle, I don't think we're going to actually figure out how the RDI works, I think we just need to try and get a lynch before the deadline lands to hopefully keep it down. There's almost no way we're going to guess why it incinerated who it did and that doesn't really help us anyways. It is random after all

Cheetah could have been just selected on a whim, or something along those lines… Or perhaps someone could have been suspicious of Cheetah based on actions in previous games, as that's been a tactic I've seen you guys do before. The fact that we've already lost so many townspeople is concerning as well…
Perhaps they were roleblocked, or they could have just been insanely busy the first night's time period; this is a slower game, after all, since everyone's busy with college, high school, work, and just life in general.

I don't think there's much point in asking about the RDI anymore. It seems to me that there's some kind of random number generator used, as well as something else to map the numbers to the players, but learning more about this doesn't really help us at all.
As for who to suspect… I'm kind of in the same boat as Jingle, where Greystripe is the only one I'm getting vibes from, but his early vote for Frosty makes him being mafia seem unlikely. I suppose its possible that his original vote was a bluff and he simply backed off when more votes started piling in, but that seems like an odd tactic. Another possibility is that he's our serial killer, or some kind of other third faction, but that's just speculation.

Well my highest suspicions are mostly against Sorrel right now honestly, she seems to just be doing the whole lay low thing. I'm giving amber the benefit of the doubt at the moment because playing maf sucks if you're also on vacation (I was on vacation a few days recently too) and I guess I'm willing to give Glimmer a bit of leeway too as they don't seem to have been on at all and it seems pretty typical of their playstyle. Whereas Sorrel seems uncharacteristically quiet even upon being prodded.
I personally get town vibes the most from Jingle, and I generally think Graystripe and Raintalon are probably safe as well.
I feel like hyperadam could go either way for me. Because while he did help lynch a maf last time, if he's a third party it would benefit him to kill mafia. He's leading the discussion a lot which makes me a little bit nervous because having been a teammate with him before I know he's a very sly player. Though I do have to say he seems to be playing pretty pro town so I do lean more to him being town.
Lightning is also someone I feel could go either way. Because while he's been a bit wishy washy I do know this is Lightning's first game so I'm understanding of that. Also the fact that there's such low activity has made this game a much more difficult game than most to get a read against anyone.
So those are my reads and hopefully this gives a bit of room to start better discussion because lord knows we need it this game

In the absence of anything else to go on, I think going for inactive players is a good place to start. Assuming we're going to end up with a random death if we don't choose, we might as well try to keep damage to a minimum. I think both glimmer and Sorrel are equally good choices for going off of inactivity, but I suppose I am a bit more suspicious of Sorrel since as DFW said this level of inactivity is a bit unusual for them.
However, I think these should be temporary choices. We still have almost a week to choose, so hopefully we can use that time to maybe have some more productive discussion. If not, we can go for Sorrel.

She's got a pretty valid reason for absence and I wasn't too concerned about her before, though as I remember she did do some strange stuff early on. Yeah, hadn't considered it but I believe this is an 'everyone-is-special' game (correct me if I'm wrong) and that could mean weird posting rules… It's unlikely and, at this point, probably not something that can have a huge effect on our decision (would be impossible to know who had a post-blocking ability/was silenced by someone overnight/whatever). I can understand the laziness aspect though, even in this game there may have been times I could have posted a bit more and didn't because it was hard work to try and figure anything out. I feel a lot of players this round are facing this problem and I'm not sure what we can really do about it except have….more of us be active which takes work. What a vicious cycle. It's definitely unlikely, but I've heard of 'silencer' roles that prohibit someone from speaking during a day cycle: I figured it was worth acknowledging, at least. Most people are probably away on vacation or something of the sort, and WW going down every so often doesn't help (it quit for me a few times but seemed to come back up within, IDK, five to ten minutes).

Graystripe I do still lean town on just by my gut instinct but he seems to be inactive this phase so it's unlikely we are going to get much more info from him unless he pops in.
Raintalon is a little interesting to me. If my theory about what muffin satan said is true, then she is not muffia, and thus she definitely didn't have anything to do with the weird vote changing shenanigans from when I almost got lynched. This of course does not rule out third party roles though I haven't gotten any especially murdery vibes from her this game. This also of course counts on me being correct that there are in fact no muffia left which is entirely based on only having one kill last night. (I will note she is the one I checked as scone last night, confirmed she is not our scone)
Hyperadam is well…my read on him remains pretty much what I said last time. Has seemingly played pretty pro-town this game but does not rule out third party roles. I still lean more towards him being town though personally. Not a lot of feelings otherwise tbh.
Lightning is a player I have been keeping an eye on the entire game. Been feeling fairly neutral on if I was suspicious of him until now and my feeling are similar to my feelings on Hyperadam. Mostly neutral, but in general a little more suspicious, as his playing hasn't quite been as pro-town as Hyperadam. Now we can chalk some of that up to this being Lightning's first game, however, it is dangerous to let that always be the excuse as we have had plenty of cases in previous games where new players were plenty savvy and took advantage of this excuse while being evil.
Glimmer is basically impossible to read as they have been inactive for the entire game. If we can't figure out who to vote for they would be my choice for a fallback on someone to vote for, though this late in the game purely inactivity votes are probably not the best idea so I'd really it rather not come to this. Idk if they have even been online, if they haven't they couldn't have sent a kill vote.
…All this to say my reads are almost exactly the same as when I posted last day phase xD

I don't necessarily think this means all the muffia are dead, since that would mean a town victory. Muffin Satan's hint actually sounds more like there is some kind of “sinful” third party involved now. Maybe the serial killer we've speculated about?
More speculation about the lack of a second kill: Considering we've had two double kills, it's impossible for this to be the result of a one-shot night vig and was likely the work of a serial killer. Now, none of the players who have died have been identified are all town or muffia, no third parties/SK, so why only one kill this night?
This is a 16 player game, so we are likely looking at a 4 player mafia. As of the end of the last day, 3 of them have been killed, so we likely have only one left. It's possible that glimmer may be the one remaining muffia and didn't send in a kill last night. They have been inactive for pretty much the whole game, so they couldn't be serial killer who has been here for two kills, but if they were only recently given the responsibility to make kills due to being the last remaining muffia their inactivity would explain the missing kill.
Another possibility is that Graystripe is either the SK or the one remaining muffia, and didn't have the time to send in this night's kill because

Anyways back to this. I'm hardly savvy at all and only signed up because I was asked if I wanted to play. I hardly see how being new and not having a play style automatically means they're anti-town. Could just be me getting defensive, but I'm not taking advantage of this and using it to be evil. I'm more concerned with you, and why you seem to think that I'm just using this as an excuse. Target me all you want, but I'm not trying to be malicious and anti-town and I think there's bigger fish to fry instead of a newbie's lack of a playstyle.
Re: possible SK/vigilante/third party person: is the serial killer always aligned with one or the other, or are they a third party by default? I'm willing to bet the lack of another kill was probably due to inactivity, but I'm not sure on who's part…could be muffia, could be a SK.

I know Gray's busy doing things, but I haven't seen anything from Glimmer in a while. They were “active”, so to say, on the 26th, so that's still fairly recent and I think was right after the night phase ended, but it's possible they were still online before that and could have sent in a kill.

Yeah… I'm kind of eyeing Lightning and Glimmer. Glimmer hasn't been terribly active as I remember, but they last logged on on the 26th, which could suggest mafiaishness for nightkill purposes. Lightning, I know you're new and yes your reasoning as to not having a playstyle makes a lot of sense. However, we can't rule you out specifically for being new either, just like we couldn't rule Sorrel out for being inactive. I guess Hyperadam could be maf but honestly I'm more or less getting a town vibe there? And no one else seems really suspicious at all, most having done something over the course of the game that makes me think they're town (voting actions, roleclaims, et cetera).

hey guys. sorry for the ridiculous inactivity, i've had a lot of stuff on my plate and was focusing on that, plus whenever i dropped in to try and post something my brain just kinda failed on me and i had no idea what to say. the stuff i was doing still isn't done (portfolio work, webcomic stuff) but here's a short post.
last time i came on i'd missed day 3 but it was the night phase so i made sure to send in a night action. i feel kinda ,,, for dropping off the face of the earth and then jumping back in with a sudden claim but my role is the corn muffin. i'm aligned with the town and i can follow players at night and find out who they visited. i followed jingle last night, and she visited amberstripe. that doesn't necessarily mean she's the killer, but it obviously stands out.

I did visit Amberstripe last night, but not to kill her. My role is pumpkin spice muffin, and every night I can hide with another muffin for protection. If I'm interpreting correctly it's kind of a 50/50 chance of which one will die if one of us is the target? So either me or Amberstripe could have been the target of the remaining muffia/sk and I guess luck wasn't on her side

Very interesting. Pumpkin Spice does seem to be a legit muffin flavor and it makes sense and all. The role seems plausible but maybe a bit questionable, unless Tom made up slightly unique roles for the game which is of course possible too (I don't know what the role would be called otherwise, the closest thing I can figure otherwise is called Hider and it doesn't seem to work quite the same).
A few questions, if I might ask them? What made you decide to hide with Amber? Amber would definitely be the target of smart mafia as she has no connections whatsoever to make people suspicious of who might want her dead. Mafia haven't really seemed to go for big talkers this game, so why did you choose an inactive to hide with?
Second question, can you provide a list of who you have hidden with this game?

Alright, the whole random numbers thing seems reasonable especially if you haven't been paying super great attention. And with the number of living players this low your chances of ending up with amber were at least decent. I'm not sure my suspicions are completely wiped totally clean, however I'm willing to consider our other options.
Namely, I am very interested in the fact that Graystripe woke up one night. It would absolutely make sense for him to wake up if he was a mafia member, because they have their meetings at night, and he didn't necessarily need to kill anyone (heck he probably wouldn't have been sent to do kills as everyone was so suspicious of his at that point). I would like to hear from [member=239]Graystripe[/member] to hear if he has any explanation for why he might have awakened in that night phase? (tho I know he is inactive right now so hhrrrrmmm)

I'm kind of confused about Jingle's ability. If she was hiding with amberstripe, it sounds like she would have been killed as well… Kind of a high risk high reward type ability for avoiding night kills. It just might not work that way, but it still seems odd. I mean, if she doesn't die even when hiding with the kill target, won't she just not die if she hides with someone every turn?
However, barring some uncertainties about how her ability works I'm tempted to believe her. It seems like an odd claim, and if anything if she was lying she would go for a safer one or question glimmer's claim. The fact that she doesn't have some airtight alibi ready when cornered like this gives me the impression she's being somewhat honest in her explanation. Plus, as mentioned before, she is pretty much our strongest town read.
Still waiting on Graystripe to learn what him waking up means. I'm still not sure about him for the reasons I outlined earlier, and if Jingle is telling the truth that means we can trust glimmer's claim.

I'm so sorry guys, here's my response to all this.
So after I got back from Montreal (July 1st), there was a week where I was spending a lot of time with friends and family. Then, after that, I started working, and I ended up working a TON of hours at two jobs. In my free time, I was trying to relax and calm down from all of it, and I sort of forgot about this place… Things are starting to wind down though.
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with me waking up… My role is Bran Muffin, and I'm basically a Doctor with a twist. I can save people, but if they aren't being attacked I end up accidentally killing them instead. I haven't actually used it yet, because the first two nights I was being very careful, and had nobody I particularly suspected of being a blatant target (and also nobody I was suspicious enough to use vigilante justice on). The third night I wasn't even here.
The only thing I can think of is that I was talking with Tom for a bit after he asked me to send in my night action, and I was trying to decide what to do before I eventually decided to not do anything…? Maybe I woke up but then just went back to bed because of that. Or maybe something else happened… I'm not entirely sure. I know that sounds suspicious, but it's true.

Forgive me for being a bit reactionary, I'm mostly going on the fact that you lowered the votes on the first day (either before or after I defended myself/claimed, I honestly can't figure out which one) It seems to be the only time you used your power as opposed to other phases when actual mafia were up for lynch (or is your power just a one shot?)
I could theoretically see this being a town power since not reaching a lynch total results in possibility of random death by incineration, but two things concern me
1. Mafia wouldn't want random incineration either since they have an equal chance of being burned

I'm not ganging up on you, I have had my suspicions on and off towards you the entire game, and you seem to react very very defensively anytime anyone has even turned eyes towards you the entire game. All these things together make me wary and your claim has turned me towards you as my greatest suspicion.
Gray is probably my second biggest suspicion and I'm generally not that terribly suspicious against anyone else. Only mildly. As for Jingle's claim I think I buy it more that Gray's claim.

Almost everyone has roleclaimed now, and since it seems I'm now the prime suspect for being the scone I should clear things up. I am the Cranberry Muffin, and each night I pick one player to nibble on to determine their flavour (role name and alignment). Basically, I'm a town-aligned investigator.
I investigated DFW on Night 1, amberstripe on Night 2, and Raintalon on Night 3. amberstripe is already dead, so that doesn't help us, DFW's claim checks out, and Raintalon is town-aligned. So yeah, that's all I've got.
So yeah, someone is lying. At the moment, I want to hear a bit more about Jingle and Lightning's claims. As I explained earlier, I'm still not very clear on Jingle's claim, and I think Lightning's claim is pretty fishy, or at the very least makes them look bad assuming they were responsible for messing with the votes on Day 1.

Alright, so I talked to Tom, and apparently I've misunderstood part of my role. As DFW said, mine is actually a vote modifier (I misinterpreted what it said), but mine cannot be used during the day, as another part of my role is that they become hated during the next day phase. I did not target you the first day, DFW, as I couldn't have. You guys are assuming I'm responsible for the votes, when I didn't do anything on day one (or night one, actually). My targets have been as follows:
Night one: No one (I hadn't gotten back to Tom in time, due to me being extremely busy)
Night two: Lavender (her attitude made me a bit suspect of her)
Night three: Amberstripe (general inactivity, no real suspicious feelings at all)The fact that both of my targets were killed is actually the result of someone else, not my ability, according to what I've been told. It's extremely unlucky that whatever determines a second kill also took both people I used my ability on, but I'm not sure why it did it. Someone else must be able to kill, but it's certainly not me.
This is very much a town-aligned power, as per my role PM. And honestly, I didn't target you, nor did I have plans to. I actually hadn't targeted anyone the first night, due to me being busy at work and unable to get to Tom in time.
Forgive me for being a bit reactionary, I'm mostly going on the fact that you lowered the votes on the first day (either before or after I defended myself/claimed, I honestly can't figure out which one) It seems to be the only time you used your power as opposed to other phases when actual mafia were up for lynch (or is your power just a one shot?)
I could theoretically see this being a town power since not reaching a lynch total results in possibility of random death by incineration, but two things concern me
1. Mafia wouldn't want random incineration either since they have an equal chance of being burned

On night two I went for Sorrel: her inactivity struck me as suspicious, what with the announcing their presence and vanishing, and I didn't have any other super strong feelings. I suppose they weren't the killer that night though, since we had two deaths? I'm a little suspicious that there was only one death tonight and no roleblockers (unless someone's lying) so the only thing I can think of is that Cheetah was that night's killer and maf action went through before possibly-SK's did, or maybe it wasn't an SK but rather a one-shot ability : P I'm leaning towards a one-shot since there wasn't a second death on N1.

Maybe a little, lol. I know you say you didn't use it, but I'm slightly hesitant to trust you because the facts don't match up as nicely as it seems they ought. Basically: If you didn't use your ability there, how was the vote count lowered? There had to have been a cause and near as I can tell there's nothing we know of that could have caused it. Doesn't mean inherently that you're lying, but it does bring in some doubt.

also I agree that I'm most suspicious of Lightning… Though there is a feeling that I'm not sure why a maf would claim their exact ability and then just say “but I didn't use it when it happened, okay?” Seems pretty risky… But could always be a double-bluff sort of thing. I'm not completely sold on lightning, but I do think they might be our best lead at the moment, since making a player more hated doesn't exactly strike me as a wholly town ability.
I also think whoever said greystripe's doctor ability under-powered the town had a pretty good point, and I'm thinking an incompetent doctor sort of role would also be not wholly town. A doctor that could accidentally kill a player if true would be dangerous, and if a lie would be the perfect cover for someone with a more sinister killing role…

So after looking through Day One again, I found this tidbit that I didn't take much notice to. After the random voting, and when DFW was almost lynched, we saw the lynch count change from nine to eight. Now,you guys assumed it was me, but there are also two other people who had still voted for DFW that hadn't retracted their vote yet; Gray and Rain. We can rule out quite a few of them.
with 16 alive it takes 8 to lynchvote count:

The fact that you didn't get killed even when you were hiding with the kill victim seemed odd to me. It almost sounded like you could be effectively unkillable if you hid every night. Now that I know about the 50/50 chance, it sounds a bit more fair though.

Again this game is a bit backwards in that the days come before the nights. I would say a cupcake seems to be a strange role in a muffin mafia game, but iirc Meg was a brownie and was town aligned, and all our mafia so far were muffins so I don't think we can actually gather information just from role names. I wonder if there was someone who could block players on odd nights then…?

We have no way of telling what powers the mafia that have died already had. OR someone else has the same ability, it is possible. It is possible, but I still think if someone tried to kill me the night after that they did a pretty bad job. It's unlikely a block happened as well, since for the first two nights we had more than one kill.

It's all up to how much you believe my claim, I guess. It's important to remember that I was one of the first people to vote for Frosty, which I wouldn't have done if I were a muffia member trying to cover for teammates.
