I'm so excited for this! I hope there's merchandise and everything; even if the movie itself sucks I'd love to be able to collect official merch of my favorite warriors.

I'm having very very mixed feelings about this.1. It's a completely unknown studio with not much at all under their belts. I was really hoping for a dreamworks adaptation 2. The gore is probably gonna be so low because you really can't make this kinda movie R or PG-13 because no one will go see it which is a shame because the gore aspect makes up a lot of the twists and turns in the series3. OFFICIAL MERCH THO GOD BLESS GIVE ME MY BLUESTAR PLUSH

I just made a post about it on the main site, too.
I really hope they don't mess it up!
(But either way, this could revitalize our forum.) -

Well, this sure is exciting!
My first thought was also along the lines of “who's this tiny company, how badly is this going to go” etc. but I've done a little bit of digging into Alibaba and it looks like they very recently partnered with Spielberg's Amblin Partners and actually acquired a minority stake in Amblin Entertainment, which owns, wait for it… Dreamworks. I of course don't know if this means Alibaba will be working with Amblin or Dreamworks on the film or not, but that's at least somewhat reassuring.
Even if they don't work with Amblin, seems like they've put out a couple good-looking Chinese animated films since 2014. They also invested in Star Trek Beyond, apparently? Neat. I just hope they don't put stars for leaders and/or anime hair on the characters. Those were always personal peeves of mine when it came to Warriors character designs. :p

Wow, I can't believe that after like ten years of movie rumors, apparently one is actually happening. Can't say I was expecting this to happen at all.

It could be a bad movie… I am 90% sure, that this movie will suck: That this movie will not earn enough money to be successful. But either way is anyone of us going to see this movie!
And you know what? We all are gonna love it! I mean: If someone comes up with the idea to make a warriors movie, it'll have a lot… a lot of fan-service in it.
Best exampel that will be in theaters next year: Assassins Creed. The movie should not be a big success, but all gamers of the series are going to love it! Same for me with warriors. At least they are trying to do something so it is better than any other movie, because there IS no other movie xD
My opinion as a hobby movie critics

I think Alibaba might just be the ones funding the production, I'm not sure who's actually going to make the movie but I hope they're good!

*comes out from under the slab of concrete called 'school'* WARRIORS MOVIE WHAT
No but seriously. seriously. this is a middle school dream come true. remember when Narnia and Guardians of Ga'Hoole were coming out and everyone was so stoked at even a Hint of a possibility of a Warriors film being made, and then this is announced! years later, way after I gave up on the possibility!! i'm so excited and happy that Warriors is still a franchise other companies think is worth investing in!
Honestly i really don't care if the movie is bad (okay i do care but right now im riding on the hype train) i'm just. so happy…. aa…..
This just leaves me wanting for the other form of merch i've always dreamed of – official warriors plushes….

Man finding out about this earlier made me have flashbacks to when everyone was upset that the Warriors movie from like 10 years ago was fake. It was a oddly nostalgic feeling.
I have a feeling they might try to cram too much in one movie though. I hope not the entire OS in one movie or something.
Even though it SEEMS like Warriors is not as popular as it used to be, you still got the current fans (both younger and in their 20's) plus all the fans that want to see their childhood book series on the screen. A lot of people still recognize warriors, more than I thought. I sell a Warrior's hand towel set and tons of people comment on it, and ask me where they can find more stuff on it. I should probably make that button set I was planning years ago. Anyway, it just goes to show that the market is still there, they just have to not fuck it up.

I'm very curious too: what books it might cover, whether it'll be Alibaba actually making it, etc.
And I'm super excited for potential Warriors merch. I'm kinda hoping for official figurines, myself. -

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. That and the fact that we'll get some more official visual art, which hopefully will be well done. I am super stoked!!

Awesome! I've been wait a long time for this! Alibaba Pictures is also doing multiple movies as seen here: http://variety.com/2016/film/asia/alibaba-pictures-film-rights-warring-cats-book-series-warriors-1201895983/
I wonder whether this means the studio is making a movie on Into the Wild, the first three books, or the entire first series.

I'm really surprised that this is happening, considering how long its been. I was skeptical about the company at first, but I'm a bit more optimistic after ready what Graham and Songheart dug up. This will be pretty exciting to follow.

I'm… honestly quite unsure whether to feel about this. One part tells me this will be a box office failure, one part tells me it will never be faithful to the books, and one part of me doesn't know what to think about it.
I don't want to doubt this movie, but I can't have any faith in it either.out of all the wishers I am probably the least excited about the movie and probably the one with the most pessimistic view about it
But there's more!
It means plushies so the Squirrelflight and Jayfeather plushies are going to be mine. I also want Moonflower. And Snowfur. Maybe Whitestorm or Yellowfang too. And also Tigerstar.
From what I've heard, Alibaba Productions actually does love the books and they're not just taking it to get a movie. So maybe I should believe in it. Aaaaack, someone help me!

I'm curious about what it's going to cover, too, because I can't imagine the whole first series would fit in one movie, but if they do any less than that they won't be completing the story. and one movie for each book seems a little much… though tbh I can't really remember all the events of the first arc, so idk how adapting it will work. I wonder if there are any good stopping points in the middle…
it does feel a little odd that it's happening after all this time, but it seems like the fanbase is still pretty big, if you count all the older fans who'll watch it just for the nostalgia. in any case, it'll be interesting to actually see everything, since I know I imagine a lot of the characters and territories wrong

I could never imagine ThunderClan camp right. I imagined the medicine den in the forest under a hut of leaves. Like there'd be slopes as walls but above the as a roof is branches of leaves. Wonder how I thought they could still have it in Leaf-fall/bare.
